ln many parts of the world, children are gave more freedam than in the past ls this a positive or a negative development?

Model Answer 1 :

The world is changing fast and so are the rules and the norms of society. When grown-ups today compare their childhood with that of today’s children, they find that today’s children have more freedom than they used to have. I believe this situation is largely positive.

There are many advantages of children enjoying more freedom. They grow up quicker than their parents did. This produces more liberal, mature, and adventurous adults, which has an effect on society in the long run. Today’s children follow the global culture, which is the amalgamation of the good points of the various cultures of the world. Consequently, countries progress more rapidly because of this shedding of many traditional ways of doing things and becoming freer and more open societies. For example, in India, if today’s youngster wants a dowry-free marriage, he will go ahead and have it against all odds, whereas earlier youngsters could not take a stand against it as it was considered customary.

Furthermore, today’s children have the power of the internet and the satellite W in their hands. Today’s young generation is the most well-informed generation than ever in the history of mankind. They know what their parents and grandparents do not know. They have oceans of opportunities in front of them, which they want to explore. They adopt careers of their choice and do not hesitate to walk on the untrodden path. They are not afraid of taking risks. For instance, earlier children were pressurized by their parents to take up medical, non-medical, or commerce streams, but today’s children are going into computer animation, computer gaming, and other fields, which were unheard of before.

On the other hand, sometimes this freedom can be detrimental for children. They like maturity and fail to see the far-reaching consequences of their actions. lt is also the time when teens make mistakes and need someone there to guide them to understand what went wrong, take a step backward, analyze, and again take a step forward. Freedoms should come in small steps so that the teens are ready to move forward having proven their ability to handle each small movement. Too much freedom can end them in bad company and also drugs.

To sum up, it can be reiterated that freedom enjoyed by children is, by and large, a good thing, but the onus is on the parents to prepare them for this in small steps so that the negative side of this excess freedom does not go against them.

Model Answer 2:-

It is fact that in various countries, parents give more freedom
to their children compared to the past. I strongly believe that this
is a positive development.

There are a lot of positive effects on children to give more freedom. Firstly, if parents give more freedom to their children, they know about the worldwide. Nowadays, children have several opportunities to do study abroad. They cannot learn only different languages but also know about the cultures and traditions. Secondly, if parents permit their children to study overseas, children go there and meet new people. So, it helps to enhance their creativity. To cite an example, in India, many children go to the UK, the USA, and Australia and they make their careers. Therefore, they also support their family and friends.

Furthermore, while children are given more freedom, they have experienced the world and realized how to deal with people. Another positive argument is that they have responsibility for their expenses. Although they are caring for their parent’s income, children
work hard and fulfill their dreams in a particular field. Finally, children
cannot copy their friends who are smoking or drinking. They will ignore them and just focus on their study. They have to listen to their parent’s advice. In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that giving more freedom to children has several positive effects for them as well the world.

Model Answer 3:-

It has been observed that children enjoy more freedom than they had in the past. There are certain merits and demerits of the above trend.
To begin, today children are more enthusiastic and always have the curiosity to explore the unknown world. Thus, if we offer them flexibility then they can enhance different skills which are extremely helpful in the development of the future. Further, in the 21st century, parents know the value of freedom and that is why they raise their children in such an atmosphere where children have all the amenities to enjoy. Besides, the restriction is always painful to kids, and to enhance their creative skills and to make them self-dependent, it is essential to give them freedom in their work. For example, in developed countries, kids enjoy different sports and creative arts which help them to build their successful careers later on. Finally, it is always beneficial to have freedom in life to explore personal interests and to build a creative image.

On the other side, too much immunity sometimes create an adverse effect on the child. As they are at an early age, they do not have visibility and focus. Hence, many times kids become a soft target for illegal activities. In addition, if freedom becomes a habit then children can not survive in the restricted environment. Moreover, it is also practically impossible for the parents to fulfill all desires and to avail all the facilities as per the wish. For instance, in India many millionaires allow their children to drive a car for personal use. However, they are the key reason behind many hit-and-run accidents in which thousands of people lose their lives every day.
In conclusion, freedom at an early age has advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, parents should not restrict their children and should actively monitor their activities in order to protect them from outside threats.
